A cambelt, also known as a timing belt, is a belt that is vital to the smooth operation of your engine.
It is vital that a cambelt is replaced to avoid failure which in turn can severely damage other components of the engine.
This is very much dependant on the manufacturer and model of your vehicle. As a rule of thumb, most new vehicles require their cambelt to be replaced after 7 years or 60,000 miles. We do however, recommend that you think about changing your cambelt after 5 years of purchasing the vehicle regardless of the manufacturer's schedule as that will not allow for any contamination or associated component faults.
It is important to note that timing belt failures are will not be covered by your vehicles warranty, therefore by replacing the cambelt before it is suggested further reduces the likelyhood of a cambelt failure.
At Penton we can change your timing belt for you and are always as competitive as possible with our prices.
